On August 10, 2024, Timișoara hosted the second round of the National Super Rally Championship, held on a street circuit around Iulius Town.

Leo Borlovan, driving a Funyo SP05 Evo prototype, secured a dramatic victory in front of his home crowd. In the first run, he faced difficulties, going off track and having to return to the paddock. However, in the second run, after his main rivals, Aurelian Andronache and Dragoș Savloschi, retired, Borlovan set the fastest time of the day at 2:52.828. The podium was completed by Costel Cășuneanu (Skoda Fabia) and Radu Benea (Ferrari 488 Challenge).

Already a Champion

On October 21, 2024, at just 23 years old, Leo Borlovan became the youngest Super Rally champion after winning the fourth and final round of the National Super Rally Championship – Powered by Superbet, held in Mangalia. Driving a Funyo single-seater, Borlovan secured a narrow victory over Dragoș Savloschi, with only a few tenths of a second separating them. The podium was completed by Simone Tempestini, a nine-time national rally champion.
